Meeting the future health needs for those impacted by Grenfell

Published on: Friday 22 November 2024

Building on our ongoing community-led recovery work, NHS North West London has been asked to review the health needs of those affected by Grenfell over the next four years. This review will cover services and support for survivors, the bereaved, and the wider community.

Our goal is to assess the changing health needs post-year seven and determine if current NHS services are sufficient and what support should be in place. This review will play a key role in shaping future Grenfell-specific health services.

The review of future health needs for those impacted by Grenfell is a really important next step in the NHS’s continued promise to support survivors, bereaved and the Grenfell affected community.  Together, we will examine the current evidence as to what the additional health needs are as a result of the fire and decide how we can best can provide support to meet those needs.

The outcome will inform a business case for resource allocation that will be submitted to NHS England for approval. It will cover the period from 2025 to 2029 and set out our plans to address health needs.

See the report on the initial findings on health needs.

From now until January 2025, we will host events to gather input from various stakeholders and to co-design future services. We would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with your organisation to gather as many perspectives as possible.

Upcoming events will be scheduled to enable community engagement and input. We will set out these dates shortly.

We look forward to working with you to ensure the identified health needs are met and shaped by your input.
